Snowmobiler Charged With Impaired Driving
On January 22, at approximately 11:20pm, police from the South Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Frontenac Fire Department and Frontenac Paramedics responded to a snowmobile collision near Moreland-Dixon Road, South Frontenac Township.
The investigation of the scene indicated that the driver of the snowmobile had gone off trail. The driver was seen by Frontenac Paramedics and not transported to hospital.
As a result of the investigation Dawson Hamilton, age 22, of Kingston has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences: Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs , Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration/
The accused had their driver's licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on February 17.
Dangerous Driving Results In Single Motor Vehicle Collision
On January 16, 2022 at approximately 4:20pm, officers of the South Frontenac detachment of the OPP observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and driving erratically on west bound Sunbury Road, South Frontenac Township.
The driver lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of Sunbury Road and Battersea Road. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on the edge of a ditch. No one was injured. Police determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further processing.
Police have charged Dave Brisson, age 30, of South Frontenac with: Dangerous operation contrary to the Criminal Code, and Race a motor vehicle - Excessive Speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act Brisson was also served with a notice that their driver's licence was suspended for three days for driving with 50mgs of alcohol or over.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on February 10. The investigation is ongoing.
