“The 4th annual Vendor Sale supporting the Henderson United Church & Hall was a hoot and a holler!  The perfect Fall Saturday, October 5th, was a gorgeous day for the 40+ vendor’s to showcase their wares, and the community to gather in “downtown Henderson”.

Over fourty vendors set up tables/tents, bringing a wide variety of skills and talents. Jams, jellies, pickles & preserves from co-organizer, Angela Deline. Wooden spoons & such from Tom Mates’ Heart Wood. Lovely raw and unpasteurized honey from Steele’s Honey of Parham. Hand made soaps & creams from Sherri Scott of Arden. Bob Bowslaugh had all sorts of metal works including fire poker sticks, and tripods for cooking over a fire.

The United Church Women (UCW) also offered a bake sale; and the church featured sandwiches, pogo and french fries, sweet treats & drinks. Tim & Penny Cota - Cota’s Mobile Catering donated 100 pulled pork sandwiches, which were popularly yummy.

Under the tent was live music by Jim MacPherson, Brad Beattie & friends. That old John Denver classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” was being performed as I passed by.

“Our church is such that we maintain our church - heat + hydro, salaries, student ministry training, outreach, plus we collaborate with Central Frontenac Township on the community hall paying oil, hydro, insurance, while renting it out and providing toilet paper/cleaning supplies. We love to offer our church and hall but it does mean we maintain two buildings, so this vendor event is a real shot in the arm for our service to God and community” Jean Brown

Central Frontenac Councillors Cindy Kelsey and Lynn Klages were working the “Bucket Draw” tables, along with many other volunteers and committee folks. Many items were generously donated by Vendors or local’s from Henderson and area. Tickets purchased were then placed in preferred buckets to be drawn at the end of the day.

The organizing team spear headed by Angela Deline, Wendy Drew, and Quinn Scott plus many other helpers coordinated a wonderful Fall event in Henderson, and are grateful for all the Vendor support, the glorious day, the finances raised, and all the attendees.”
