Perth Road Public School Makes Volleyball History

In an unprecedented achievement, both the boys' and girls' volleyball teams at Perth Road Public School brought home gold medals from the LESSA tournament hosted November 26 at Queen’s University. This historic double victory marks the first time in recent memory that the school has achieved such a feat, sparking celebration among students, staff, and the wider community.

Proud coaches Jeff Lloyd, Ali Irwin, and Mandy Aylesworth credit the teams’ success to a combination of hard work, dedication, and a vibrant volleyball culture that permeates the school. "Every recess, you’ll find kids playing volleyball," said Coach Lloyd. "It’s a game they love, and that passion drives their progress."

The coaches themselves are no strangers to hard work, dedicating every lunch break to developing the players’ skills. "It’s been a tremendous commitment, but seeing the payoff has made it all worthwhile," said Coach Aylesworth. "The students worked incredibly hard, and their determination really showed on the court."

Perth Road Public School's strong volleyball tradition is now stronger than ever, with students inspired by the success of their peers. "We’ve built something special here," said Coach Irwin, who also coaches the Sydenham Jr Eagles girls team. "The future of volleyball in our area looks brighter than ever."
