A local animal protection group belonging to S.T.O.P. (Stop Turtle Oppression Program) has requested that applications be accepted for several openings for the position of Turtle Crossing Guard in South Frontenac Township. This group, being associated with C.R.A.P. (Canadian Reptile Access Party), is becoming increasingly concerned about the number of crushed and mangled turtles on our roadways as the result of inconsiderate and unobservant drivers in our area. As a result, the township has requested that the crossings be supervised daily by conscientious personnel issued with lawn chairs, safety vests, and S.T.O.P. signs. These persons will be responsible, safely and to the best of their ability, for ensuring that traffic is controlled during the period that turtles are crossing the roadway in each clearly marked “Turtle Crossing Zone”. Immature turtles crossing recklessly at any other area will do so at their own risk.

Each applicant must address an application for the above position to The Frontenac News in an envelope clearly marked STOP CRAP, stating why he or she is qualified for the job, highest level of education, experience related to this assignment, and three professional references. All applications will remain confidential and only those deemed qualified for an interview will be contacted. Watch for openings for similar positions to be posted next April 1.
