The Cloyne and District Historical Society has exciting news as our Pioneer Museum, located in Cloyne, Ontario, launches a new digital guide to showcase artifacts and stories that will enrich both onsite and offsite visits.

The free guide joins hundreds of cultural institutions around the globe on the Bloomberg Connects app. To date, the Pioneer Museum is the third Canadian organization on the Connects app.

On August 28, the Cloyne Pioneer Museum launched a new, digital guide on Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and cultural app created by Bloomberg Philanthropies.

The Bloomberg Connects app, available for download from Google Play or the App Store, makes the Cloyne Pioneer Museum accessible for either onsite or offsite visits through photo and audio features offering insights into the history of the area, including lumbering, mining, and tourism.

The Historical Society President, Ken Hook, is delighted to have a guide for our small museum added to those of organizations around the world, as different as the Guggenheim Museum, New York, the Petit Palais, Paris and Tokyo City View.

All organizations have a similar guide structure making it easy to navigate, whether you walk through the museum in Cloyne, phone in hand, or visit wherever around the world you chose on the app. This is all made possible through the generous support of Bloomberg Philanthropies and their Connects app.

Bloomberg Connects offers free digital guides to cultural organizations around the world. The app platform is part of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ longstanding commitment to supporting digital innovation in the arts. Bloomberg Connects makes it easy to access and engage with arts and culture from mobile devices when visiting in person, or anytime from anywhere. With dynamic content exclusive to each partner organization, the app provides a range of features including video, audio, and text; expert commentary; and way-finding maps. Follow Bloomberg Connects on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads for updates on new guide launches, exhibit highlights, and more.
