RKY Camp Charity Album Launch Brings Rocket Surgery, Paul Langlois Band, and Other Top Kingston Talent to the Isabel.
On April 12, the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts (“the Isabel”), Full Frequency Productions, and RKY Camp present “The RKY Camp Summer Album Release Concert,” featuring performances by Rocket Surgery, Paul Langlois Band, Greg Ball, Emilie Steele & The Deal, Alex Mundy, and Foster, Shea & Sudac, plus more to be announced
The proceeds from this concert are in support of the RKY Camp Campership Fund. “RKY Camp is committed to providing summer camp and outdoor experiences to all children and youth regardless of financial circumstances,” says D’Arcy Munn, Executive Director of RKY Camp. “The ‘Campership Fund' was established to ensure support is available to families who would otherwise be unable to send their kids to camp.”
The album, set to release in April, features 18 songs performed by over 40 local musicians. This album release concert, taking place at the Isabel on Friday, April 12 at 7:30pm, invites attendees to relive their youth and celebrate the launch of this important charity album by watching many of Kingston’s favourite musicians cover a variety of popular summer hits and classic camp songs.
“I attended and worked at RKY Camp for eight years. It has given me some of my fondest memories and I dearly want to help provide this experience to other kids,” says album producer Aaron Holmberg (Full Frequency Productions). “We are so grateful to the musicians who have donated their time and talents and are making this album and concert fundraiser a reality."
Tickets are Pay What You Can $10, $20, $30, $40, or $50, and can be purchased through the Isabel Box Office, 613-533-2424 (Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 PM), and anytime online.
