North Frontenac Little Theatre’s (NFLT) Lily Legacy is putting on Youth Theatre Workshops to be held at the Downstairs Community Room, 1005 Medical Center Rd, Sharbot Lake, ON K0H 2P0 (below the Medical Centre) on Thursdays from 9:45am-2:45pm in July and August.
Youth ages 7 years and older are invited to participate. Note – anyone younger than 8 will need a parent or guardian to be with them. The classes are free!! NFLT is collecting non perishable food items or cash donations for the food bank instead of charging a fee.
The workshops will target various aspects of theatre and will be very hands on. The first one will be about musical theatre and how it is different than regular theatre. Christina Michie, directing the upcoming musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, will teach a song and choreography from this production.
Future themes in the summer will include Script to Stage – where participants will learn what and who it takes to put on a play by putting on a 5 minute mini-play, What is an Accent, IMPROV!, Costumes – theory and design, makeup, and lights and sound (this one at Oso Hall to make use of the NFLT lights and sound system at the hall.
Snacks and drinks will be provided, but participants are being asked to bring a lunch for something more substantial. Thanks Mike Deans for your help with the snacks!
To register for one class, all classes or a selection or for more information please text Lily at 613-305-4040 or check the website at www.Northfrontenaclittletheatre.com
