Summer Program Fee Schedule:

Due to the popularity of the summer programs since 2022 following a two-year hiatus due to Covid, although McMullen Beach camp was reopened last summer, adding 280 day-camp spaces, all three sites quickly had waitlists.

Summer programs consist of: Day Camp, Swim Lessons, Before and After Care, and Shuttle Bus. The proposed fee schedules show differential resident/non resident pricing for Day Camp, reflecting a tax base subsidy for Township residents.

Council approved the changes, which had been reviewed and recommended by the Recreation and Leisure Services Advisory Committee.

Fire House Subs Grant Application:

South Frontenac Fire and Rescue has the addition of two side-by-side utility vehicles in the long-range fleet plan at a cost of $55,000 each planned for 2026. Currently, any use of side-by-side vehicles relies on borrowing a unit through mutual aid. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada is dedicated to improving the lifesaving capabilities of first responders and public safety organizations by providing funding, resources and support. Currently, they are accepting applications for a grant to buy a $55,000 side-by-side utility vehicles for fighting wildland fires.

The deadline is short: Council approved of staff moving forward to apply for the grant, and authorized the Clerk and Mayor to sign off on the grant agreement, if the application is successful.

Tank Replacement: Tanker 351 based out of the Sydenham station has a significant leak in the 2,500-gallon water tank. The cost estimate to repair the tank is $98,760 for material and labour to replace the tank with a reinforced stainless steel tank. Council approved drawing up to $100,000 from the Fire Equipment Reserve fund for the repair.
